danyeli rodriguez del orbe

Danyeli Rodriguez Del Orbe is a poet, spoken word artist and cultural expression activist from the Dominican Republic raised in The Bronx. In her writing, she explores womanhood/ gender, love, and migration. Her work has been featured by the Bronx Museum of Arts, Museum of African Diaspora (MoAD), People en Español, NPR, and Foot Locker. Danyeli has performed at over forty universities and venues across the United States and the Caribbean. She was a recipient of the Define Americant Immigrant Artist Fellowship and Grant for an upcoming film project on Dominican migration. 


Danyeli self-published a collection of poetry titled, Periodicos De Ayer  recently added to the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s libraries. Her most recent contribution in Somewhere We Are Human, edited by Sonia Guiñansaca and Reyna Grande, is expected to be released in June 2022. 


In addition to poetry, Danyeli has voice-over and podcasting experience, as heard on Afro-Punk’s documentary, Whine Di Waist For Liberation and loose accents, a co-produced/ co-hosted podcast. 


When she is resting, Danyeli can be found either in Los Angeles or The Bronx, caring for her plants or baby sister.
